Which products require CE marking
Not all products are subject to CE marking. The requirement depends on the product category and the applicable European Directive or Regulation. Equipment with electromagnetic emissions | Dir. 2014/30/EU — EMC | Not required | Often combined with Low Voltage Directive |
Medical devices | Reg. (EU) 2017/745 — MDR | Mandatory (classes IIa, IIb, III) | Complex process; long lead times |
Personal protective equipment (PPE) | Dir. 2016/425/EU | Mandatory (cat. II and III) | Helmets, harnesses, respirators, etc. |
Toys | Dir. 2009/48/EC | Not required (with exceptions) | Strict chemical and mechanical requirements |
